Dukki, A tribal jirga will be held on April 27 under the leadership of Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai, convenor of the Pashtun Qaumi Jirga, to resolve the long-standing bloody conflict between the Nasir and Tarin tribes. The event will take place at the house of Sardar Masoom Khan Tareen, and participants will arrive from Nasir House under the leadership of Sardar Yaqub Khan Nasir, Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the tribal jirga aims to bring an end to the violent and land-related disputes that have plagued the Nasir and Tarin tribes for many years. As a result of the conflict, eight people have been killed and two injured on both sides. The jirga will seek to reach a peaceful resolution and establish a lasting ceasefire.
The event is expected to draw hundreds of religious, political, and tribal elders from across Balochistan. Invitations have been sent to key leaders, including Governor Balochistan Abdul Wali Kakar, Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasir, former Chairman of the Islamic Ideological Council and Jamiat Ulema Islam Pakistan leader Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani, former Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawab Aslam Khan Raisani, Provincial Minister Haji Noor Mohammad Damar, and several others. The gathering will focus on reaching an agreement that promotes peace and reconciliation between the tribes.
In another development in Dukki, the Mines Inspector issued a safety advisory to mine managers, mine chiefs, and coal mine workers, warning of the risks of mine accidents due to dangerous gases and water accumulation following the Eid holidays. The advisory urged mine managers to take safety measures, including identifying dangerous gases with multi-gas detectors, using exhaust and blower fans, and completing repairs before resuming coal mining operations. This safety reminder comes as part of efforts to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of mine workers in the area.
