Training Vital for Positive Use of Technology, Says Minister of State for IT


Islamabad, During a meeting with a delegation from Lenovo, the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, emphasized the importance of training in harnessing technology for economic development and the positive engagement of youth. The discussion covered topics including digitalization, artificial intelligence, skills development, and IT infrastructure enhancement.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting focused on leveraging Lenovo’s expertise to advance the IT sector, which is pivotal for the country’s economic uplift. Minister Khawaja highlighted the government’s commitment to the IT sector, which aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision to enhance skills training. She urged Lenovo to contribute to training initiatives, particularly for the youth, to promote the productive use of technology.



Minister Khawaja expressed a specific interest in boosting the e-gaming sector with insights from Lenovo’s experience. She assured Lenovo of the IT Ministry’s full support in these endeavors. The Lenovo delegation included several key figures, such as Samer El Dana, Sales Director for Gulf and Pakistan, and Mohammed Rehmatullah, Head of Relationship Business for MEA.
