New Delhi: In a heartbreaking sequence of events, an Indian Army Captain and her Indian Air Force officer husband have both committed suicide in separate incidents in New Delhi and Agra. The couple, identified as Captain Renu Tanwar and Flight Lieutenant Deen Dayal Deep, took their lives within hours of each other, as per police reports.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Captain Tanwar, who was assigned to the Military Nursing Service in Agra, was found deceased at the Garuda Sharat Officers Mess in the Delhi Cantt area. She was in Delhi to oversee the treatment of her ailing mother at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) when she learned of her husband’s death in Agra.

Flight Lieutenant Deep, stationed at the Agra Air Force Station, was discovered hanging at the officers’ quarters. Shortly thereafter, Captain Tanwar, who was staying with her mother and brother at the Gaurauda Sharath Officers’ Guest House, also took her own life. At the time of her death, her family members were at the hospital, leaving her alone at the guest house.

Police investigations revealed that Captain Tanwar left a note at the scene stating that no one was to blame for her decision. The couple, who were natives of Rajasthan and Bihar respectively, had been in a relationship before marrying in 2022. The news of their suicides has sent shockwaves through their communities and the Indian armed forces.
