Tragic Suicide of Paramilitary Constable in Nagpur Highlights Distress in Security Forces

Nagpur, An Indian paramilitary constable in Maharashtra’s Nagpur city has tragically ended his own life, marking a somber event within the ranks of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF).

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred at the Unconventional Operations Training Centre (UOTC), an anti-Naxal training facility of Maharashtra police, where 35-year-old constable Mangesh Maske was on deputation. Officials reported that Maske fatally shot himself with his service rifle, succumbing to his injuries at the scene.

The loss of Constable Maske, who is mourned by his spouse, also a member of the Nagpur police force, and their two children, underscores the distressing issue of mental health and suicide within the law enforcement community.
