Srinagar, In a heart-wrenching incident in Bandipora district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, two young students of a religious seminary lost their lives due to suffocation. The tragedy has cast a shadow over the local community, highlighting concerns regarding safety in residential educational institutions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred at Darul-uloom Faiz-ul-uloom in the Ashtangoo area, where Muneer Ahmad Chechi, aged 10, and Tanveer Ahmad Chechi, aged 9, both from Malangam, Bandipora, were found to have succumbed to suffocation. The distressing discovery was made on Wednesday morning by the seminary (Darasgah) officials, who found the children and their father unconscious within the premises.
Despite immediate efforts to save the young lives by rushing them to a nearby hospital, the boys could not be revived. The seminary officials stated that while the boys tragically passed away, their father is currently receiving medical treatment at the district hospital in Bandipora. The community is mourning the loss of the two young students, and there is an ongoing concern for the well-being of their father.
This incident has prompted calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to such a tragic outcome and a review of safety measures at similar institutions to prevent future occurrences.
