Srinagar: The body of a teenage girl was recovered from the River Jhelum near Habba Kadal in Srinagar, the capital of the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), following a two-day search effort by local emergency teams.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the girl, whose name has been withheld, had initially jumped into the river from the Habba Kadal Bridge. This incident prompted an immediate response from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), who initiated a comprehensive search and rescue operation.
The search concluded this morning when the girl’s body was spotted floating near the Chattabal area. The SDRF team successfully retrieved the body from the river. Concurrently, local police have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
