Kargil: A devastating bus accident occurred in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of six individuals and injuries to 22 others. The bus, which was carrying school staff and children, veered off the road and fell into a gorge near Durbuk area.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place on Thursday, when the school bus tragically skidded off the road, leading to significant casualties and injuries among the passengers. Deputy Commissioner of Leh, Santosh Sukhdev, confirmed the details of the accident and stated that the vehicle was en route to Durbuk at the time of the accident.
The local authorities swiftly launched a rescue operation, and all injured parties were transported to a nearby medical facility to receive first aid. The Deputy Commissioner added that those critically injured would be moved to Leh for specialized medical treatment.
