Tragic Bus Accident in Iran Claims Lives of 35 Pakistani Pilgrims


Yazd: A devastating bus accident in Yazd, Iran, has resulted in the deaths of at least thirty-five Pakistani pilgrims, with fifteen others critically injured. The pilgrims, hailing from various cities in Sindh including Larkana and Ghotki, were involved in the incident which reportedly occurred due to brake failure.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the injured have been transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care. The tragic event has drawn significant attention from the highest levels of the Pakistani government, with both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressing their deep grief and condolences to the families of the victims.



The President has issued directives to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the repatriation of the bodies and ensure that the injured receive necessary support. Additionally, the Prime Minister has instructed Pakistan’s mission in Tehran to provide all possible assistance to those affected.



Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tehran, Mudassir Tipu, confirmed that embassy officials are actively involved in the emergency response efforts in Yazd. Through his social media on X, Ambassador Tipu assured that maximum efforts are being made for the facilitation and medical treatment of the injured, adding that he is coordinating closely with both the Iranian government and the office of the Mayor of Yazd to manage the situation effectively.
