Tourists Warned to Avoid Certain Areas in North Kashmir Due to Security Concerns


Srinagar: Authorities in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir have issued a warning advising tourists to avoid specific areas in the Teetwal region of north Kashmir, citing security concerns. The advisory targets key tourist spots, including the Crossing Bridge, Domel near River Front, and Bathing Ghat, restricting access until further notice.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the Sub-District Magistrate (SDM) of Karnah issued the advisory, urging both local and non-local tourists to adhere to the restrictions for their safety. The SDM emphasized the importance of public cooperation with the advisories, which are put in place to ensure the welfare and safety of all visitors and residents in the area.



While the precise nature of the security risks was not detailed, the advisory highlights the potential dangers in these popular tourist locations. Authorities have called for heightened caution and have made it clear that the advisory will remain in effect from July 22, 2024, until it is deemed safe to lift the restrictions.
