Torrential Rains Cause Deadly Floods in Tripura, Displacing Thousands


Agartala: Torrential rains have led to severe flooding in the Indian state of Tripura, resulting in the deaths of 10 people, with many more reported missing. The intense weather has caused widespread disruption, affecting thousands of lives and damaging infrastructure across the region.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the flooding has paralyzed routine life in Tripura, forcing approximately 34,000 residents from eight districts to evacuate to safer locations. The floods have also resulted in significant damage to around 1,000 homes and have severely disrupted the local train service, with many tracks submerged.



The situation remains critical, and rescue efforts are ongoing as the state grapples with this natural disaster.
