Top Leaders Gather in Islamabad for Funeral of Martyred Child

Islamabad: The funeral of Irtaza Abbas Turi, a seven-year-old boy and son of Lieutenant Colonel Zaheer Abbas Turi, was held in Islamabad today. Irtaza was killed in Azad Kashmir amid reported unprovoked Indian cross-border aggression. The service was attended by key political and military figures, underscoring the national significance of the incident.

Among those present were President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Ministers for Foreign Affairs, Defence, and Information. Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf, along with numerous military and civilian officers, also attended to pay their respects.

During the ceremony, President Zardari and Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan’s Armed Forces to counter Indian military actions. They expressed resolve to address what they termed as blatant violations of international law.

The leaders offered prayers for the victims and their families, emphasizing the need for decisive action against such acts. Prime Minister Sharif specifically condemned the targeting of civilians, labeling it as cowardly and a serious threat to peace.

The incident has heightened tensions between the two countries, drawing attention to ongoing conflicts and raising concerns over regional stability.
