Srinagar, July 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the killing of an Indian dog during a cordon and search operation launched by the Indian Army in Baramullah that also killed two Kashmiri youth in Baramulla district, today, has nakedly exposed the Indian media, civil society and the Indian army itself. The incident took place in Wanigam Bala area of the district.
Sadly, the Indian media flashed the news about the elimination of the Indian army dog, Axel, during the operation under banner headlines, but uttered no words of sympathy for the martyred Kashmiri youth. The media covered the wreath-laying ceremony of the slain dog by the Indian army at the headquarters of 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles with every minute detail with how top Indian army leadership including Maj. Gen. SS Slaria, General Officer Commanding Kilo and representatives of the Indian Police attending the event without any shame.
The locals condemned both the Indian media as well as the army for glamorizing the killing of the dog, but maintaining a criminal silence on the massacre of Kashmiri youth in fake encounters. They said that the occupation troops had martyred thousands of Kashmiris in IIOJK in the past three decades without any reason, but the morally-bankrupt Godi media did not pay heed to these killings as if the life of an animal is more important than the life of Kashmiri people in the eye of the Indian media.
Persecution of Muslims, Christians and low-caste Hindus in India has increased to an alarming proportion in India under fascist Narendra Modi as attacks against members of religious minorities have increased manifold since BJP came to power in 2014, they added.
Violence, intimidation and harassment against minorities have become the order of the day in India and communal Modi is shaping the country’s policy according to Hindutva dictates. But, they said, the Indian media is mourning the killing of a dog and has no sympathy with the people of Kashmir who are being martyred on a daily basis by Indian troops in the occupied territory.
