Threat to regional peace: India deploys MiG-29 fighter jets equipped with deadly weapons in Srinagar

Srinagar, August 12, 2023 (PPI-OT): In a show of its jingoistic designs, India has deployed a squadron of upgraded MiG-29 fighter jets at Srinagar Air Base in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to create new threats to Pakistan, China and peace in the region. India is deploying more nuclear weapons and jets against Pakistan and China, creating a war atmosphere and tension in the region and endangering the lives of people in the occupied territory.

Indian Air Force Pilot Squadron Leader Vipul Sharma talking to media in Srinagar said, “Srinagar lies in the centre of Kashmir valley and its elevation is higher than plains. It is strategically better to place an aircraft with a higher weight-to-thrust ratio and less response time due to proximity to the border and is equipped with better avionics and long-range Pakistan and China on both fronts.”

Squadron Leader Shivam Rana said the upgraded aircraft can operate at night with night vision goggles and has a longer range due to air-to-air refuelling capability. The MiG-29s moved to the Srinagar air base in January this year and have flown extensively in the Kashmir valley along with the Ladakh region where they would be used against Pakistan and China. Pertinently, Kashmir valley and Ladakh region are already under huge Indian forces’ presence with latest weaponry, including nuclear weapons. The latest nuclear loaded war fighters deployed in the region is a new threat to the people of the occupied territory and the south Asian region.
