Third Martyrdom Anniversary of Syed Ali Gilani Observed in Srinagar

Srinagar: Today marks the third martyrdom anniversary of Syed Ali Gilani, a prominent Hurriyat leader and a key figure in the Kashmir resistance movement. Events are being held to commemorate his legacy, including visits to his burial site and special prayers in his honor.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani, who passed away on September 1, 2021, had been under house arrest for over a decade at his residence in Srinagar at the time of his death. In remembrance of his contributions, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has encouraged the public in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to visit the Hyderpora graveyard to pay respects to Gilani.

The call by the APHC has garnered backing from various pro-freedom organizations. They have also requested imams and khateebs to hold special prayers for Gilani and other Kashmiri martyrs during mosque gatherings.

Furthermore, the APHC has called on the Kashmiri diaspora to organize peaceful demonstrations across the globe. These demonstrations aim to draw international attention to the ongoing human rights issues in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
