Third Earthquake in Two Days Shakes Northern Kashmir

Srinagar: Strong earthquake tremors were felt once again in the northern districts of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday night, marking the third seismic event in the region within a span of just two days. The recurring tremors have raised concerns about the area’s vulnerability to earthquakes.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the latest episode follows two significant earthquakes that occurred consecutively, registering magnitudes of 4.9 and 4.8. These earlier tremors not only caused structural damage but also resulted in the tragic death of a young girl in the affected area.

The repeated seismic activity has intensified fears among the local population, who are now grappling with the dual challenges of safety and recovery from the damages inflicted by these natural disasters.
