The Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination meets

Islamabad, November 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination met this afternoon in Parliament House, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Mr. Nawab Sher, MNA to discuss the performance of the M/o IPC and its attached departments.

The Committee appreciated the performance of the Pakistan Cricket Team for reaching the Final of T20 World Cup, 2022 and prayed that the Pakistan Cricket Team would win the Final Match and bring the World Cup Trophy to Pakistan as well.

The Committee directed that M/o IPC may provide proper supervision to other sports like, Baseball, Handball, Athletic, Golf and Football etc. as it had been reported that the associations of different games were organizing international events on private venues instead of National grounds.

The Committee also directed the heads of different sports organizations to submit their proposals to the Committee so that the Committee could take them an appropriate forum for their amicable solution.

The Committee expressed concern over the poor performance of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) during the last two years as it failed to promote sports activities in Pakistan Sports Complex due to mis-management and lack of coordination with different National and International Sports Organizations. The Committee therefore, constituted a Four Members Sub-Committee headed by Ms. Wajiha Qamar, MNA “To examine the overall performance of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB)” especially;

i. Detail of ongoing Projects.

ii. Initiating the civil work after installation of precious Astotroph.

iii. Detail of International visits of Director General and other officials of PSB without getting NOC from the Competent Authority.

iv. Efforts made by the current management of PSB to promote sports activities at Sports Complex.

Earlier, Secretary, IPC briefly apprised the Committee about the efforts made by them to promote sports activities in Pakistan and problems faced by them in this regard.

The meeting was attended by Ch. Zulfiqar Ali Bhindar, MNA, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Behan, MNA, Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar, MNA, Ms. Wajiha Qamar, MNA, Ms. Shahida Rehmani, MNA, and senior officers of the concerned Ministry/department.
