Islamabad, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Standing Committee on Commerce considered and approved “The Trade Organizations (Amendment) Bill, 2022” (Government Bill) and “The Trade Dispute Resolution Bill, 2022” (Government Bill).
37th meeting of the Standing Committee on Commerce was held today, in the Ministry of Commerce, Islamabad, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Khursheed Ahmed Junejo, MNA.
The Committee considered “The Trade Organizations (Amendment) Bill, 2022” (Government Bill) and approved the Bill with following Amendments:
1) Amendment in Section 1, sub-section (4) of Act II of 2013. – The expression ’1st January 2022” shall be substituted with “1st January 2023”
2) Amendment in Section 2, Clause (P) of Act II of 2013.- “Regulator means the Director General or any officer not less than grade 20 appointed by the division concerned to perform functions under this Act.
The Committee also considered “The Trade Dispute Resolution Bill, 2022” (Government Bill) and approved the Bill with following Amendments:
1) Amendment in Section 9, sub-section (d). – The word “thirty- five” shall be substituted with “forty-five”
2) The Tenure of employment will be three years, extendable for another three years on satisfactory performance or if necessary.
The Committee unanimously approved the minutes of its previous meeting held on 19th October, 2022.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Muhammad Aslam Bhootani, Mr. Usman Ibrahim, Ms. Shaista Pervaiz, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, MNAs. The meeting was also attended by Syed Naveed Qamar, Minister for Commerce, Secretary Commerce, and senior officers the Ministry of Commerce.
