Islamabad, December 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Deputy Speaker Zahid Akram Durrani have said that the purpose of celebrating Voters Day is to highlight the importance of voting among the people. He said that in a democratic system, every citizen has the right to exercise his right to vote, and people can bring positive change with their vote. He expressed these views on the occasion of World Voter’s Day, which is celebrated every year on December 7 all over the world.
Speaker National Assembly said that the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan gives full power to all the people living in the country to strengthen the democratic forces through the right to vote. He said that leadership can be chosen according to the aspirations of the people through transparent elections in the country.
He said that for the continuation of the democratic system, it is necessary that the assemblies complete their constitutional term and the transfer of power through vote is implemented. He stressed the need for all political parties to forget their differences and jointly bring reforms to make the electoral process more effective.
Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that democracy provides an opportunity to the common man to contribute to the affairs of the country. He said that by creating democratic stability in the country, we can make it a developed country. On this occasion, Deputy Speaker Zahid Akram Durrani said that the power of vote gives people the right to choose a sincere leader. He said that we can give the country a bright future by giving the best leadership through our vote. He urged the media to play their role in highlighting the importance of voting among the people.
