Lahore, June 08, 2023 (PPI-OT): Lahore, June 7: The Punjab government has taken a principled decision to start the program “Now Villages Will Shine” in order to provide urban-style facilities to the people in the villages. Under this program, an integrated system of clean drinking water supply and sanitation will be created in the villages and basic facilities will be provided to the people in the villages at their doorsteps. Under the programme, villagers will not have to travel far for birth, death certificate, marriage and divorce registration.

In every village the best system of Chowkidari will be introduced and a committee consisting of local dignitaries will be formed to improve the condition of the village. The concerned Assistant Commissioner will have the power to form the committee in the village. The revenue received from each village will be spent on the improvement of the village itself. Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has given the task to the administration to ensure the implementation of the program “Now villages will shine”.
