Islamabad, February 09, 2023 (PPI-OT):24th meeting of the Standing Committee on Housing and Works of the National Assembly was held today in Committee Room No. 7 (4th Floor), Parliament House Islamabad, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhary, MNA. The meeting started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. The committee decided to proceed with the agenda and unanimously confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting held on 21-12-2022.

2. The Director General, Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) briefed the Committee on the current status of the different projects and explained the steps taken to resolve all the issues relating to ongoing projects for timely provision of plots/flats/apartments to the actual allottees.

3. The Director General, Estate Office, briefed the Committee about the General Waiting List and the category wise details of allotments of all houses of Sectors G-9 and G-10 Islamabad. The Estate Office apprised that the employees of CDA are not eligible to get accommodation from the pool of Estate Office as CDA is maintaining its own pool of accommodation for its employees.

4. The Director General, Pakistan Public Works (Pak. PWD) briefed the Committee on the current status of utilization of SAP funds for the year 2022-2023.

5. The MD, Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) Foundation and MD, National Construction Limited (NCL) Islamabad, briefed in detail on the working functioning of PHAF and NCL. The officials also informed the Committee on the progress of ongoing projects in Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta and Gilgit-Baltistan.

6. The Committee appreciated the work done by the National Construction Limited (NCL) Islamabad under the supervision of Secretary Housing and Works, and unanimously recommended to maintain the independent status of NCL, being a national asset.

7. The meeting was attended by Honourable Members Ms. Tahira Aurangzeb, Syed Mehmood Shah, Mr. Salahuddin, Mr. Muhammad Abu Bakar, and Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, Makhdoom Syed Sami-ul-Hassan Gillani, and senior officers from Ministry of Housing and Works and its attached departments/organizations.
