Lahore, October 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar, security arrangements were on high alert on the occasion of the final match of Pakistan England T20 series at Gaddafi Stadium. On the orders of IG Punjab, Lahore Police has tightened the security of players, team officials and international guests, while the security around the Gaddafi Stadium has been increased from three layered to four-layered.

On the instructions of IG Punjab, security has been beefed up throughout the city and 1800 more personnel of Lahore Police have been deployed on security duty. IG Punjab directed that patrolling of police and special branch personnel should be increased in the vicinity of the stadium, while the monitoring process with Safe City cameras inside and outside the stadium was tightened.

The spokesperson of Punjab Police said that more than 12 thousand personnel and officers of Lahore Police performed their security duties and fans who came to watch the match were passed through a security check even before entering the Gaddafi Stadium. He further said that the security has also been increased at the parking stands and additional traffic wardens have been deployed to maintain the uninterrupted flow of traffic.

Spokesperson Punjab Police said that on the order of IG Punjab, policemen and wardens remained on duty till late night even after the end of the match and cricket fans ensured full cooperation from the security staff. The Spokesperson Punjab Police said that Punjab Police will ensure all possible measures for the security of cricket matches and the convenience of cricket fans in the future as well.
