The decision to start the renovation, decoration and restoration project of Badshahi Masjid on the instructions of the caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi

Lahore, April 05, 2023 (PPI-OT):It has been decided to start the renovation, decoration and restoration project of Badshahi Masjid on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Walled City of Lahore Authority, Aga Khan Foundation and other institutions will complete the restoration, renovation and decoration project of Badshahi Masjid.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi to review the affairs of Walled City of Lahore Authority, in which renovation and restoration projects of Badshahi Masjid and other historical places were considered. In the meeting, the proposal to manage Shalamar Bagh, Jahangiru Tomb and Nur Jahan Tomb under the Walled City of Lahore Authority was also reviewed. Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that Badshahi Masjid has become the identity of Lahore. Badshahi Masjid will be restored to its original condition and other parts of the building will be renovated.

Funds required for the maintenance and renovation of the Badshahi Masjid are provided will be done. The Chief Minister was informed in the briefing that the rehabilitation project from Lady Willingdon Hospital to Badami Bagh will be completed at a cost of 22 million Euros. Restoration work is nearing completion at 15 of the 24 historical sites of the Shahi Fort.

The restoration of the Barod Khana kitchen is becoming an attraction for tourists. Provincial Ministers Ibrahim Murad, Syed Azfar Ali Nasir, Chief Secretary, DG Walled City of Lahore Authority, Commissioner Lahore, concerned Secretaries, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad and senior officials attended the meeting.
