Thai Delegation Meets with Balochistan Caretaker Chief Minister to Discuss Educational and CPEC Opportunities

Quetta, A Thai delegation led by Consul General Naruts Soontarodom met with the Caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki, to discuss a range of mutual interests. The meeting highlighted opportunities for educational collaboration, investment in CPEC projects, and strengthening bilateral relations between Thailand and Pakistan.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the discussions included providing scholarships for Balochistan students in three major universities in Thailand, enhancing the professional capacity of teaching staff at Balochistan universities, and initiating youth exchange programs. The Thai delegation expressed a keen interest in investing in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, furthering long-lasting relations between the two countries.

Caretaker Chief Minister Domki welcomed Thailand’s offer to provide better educational opportunities for Balochistan’s youth and professional training for university teaching staff. He emphasized mutual cooperation in various sectors, including commercial and educational fields. The Chief Minister also appreciated Thailand’s interest in participating in CPEC projects, recognizing the potential for further strengthening bilateral ties.

Domki assured the Thai delegation that trade issues pending between Thailand and Pakistan would be discussed with the federal government for resolution. Efforts will be made to positively resolve free trade issues pending for ten years, aiming to make them fruitful. He also mentioned the active role of Balochistan’s sports department under Nawabzada Jamal Khan Raisani in promoting sports and providing a healthy environment for the youth.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of souvenirs between General Narut Soontarodom and the Caretaker Chief Minister, who presented gifts and traditional shawls to the delegation members, symbolizing the warm cultural ties between Balochistan and Thailand.
