Thackeray expresses concern over prevailing situation in occupied Kashmir

Mumbai, July 27, 2023 (PPI-OT): Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government, criticising its handling of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, which gave special status to its people. Uddhav Thackeray in a media interview in Mumbai expressed serious concern over the prevailing situation in the territory.

“Target killing is still happening there. Kashmiri Pandits cannot return to the Valley. Elections are not happening. Kashmir has been divided into pieces. Leh-Ladakh separated. Jammu Kashmir was separated, then why don’t you hold elections now”, he said. Thackeray said the BJP is pursuing political gains rather than genuine concern.
