Temporary Closure of MOFA Liaison Office in Lahore AnnouncedChief Minister Sindh Emphasizes the Role of Arts in Humanizing Modern Society

Lahore, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Liaison Office in Lahore, also known as the Camp Office Lahore, will be temporarily closed for administrative reasons from Monday, January 29, 2024, to Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during this brief closure, consular services, including the attestation of documents, will be unavailable. The office assures that these services will be reinstated from February 1, 2024.

Additionally, starting February 1, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Liaison Office in Lahore will operate from a new location at 43- N Block, Gulberg III, Lahore. The move to the new premises marks a significant change in the office’s operations.

This temporary disruption in services and the subsequent relocation are important notices for individuals in Lahore who rely on the consular services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Karachi, Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, Justice (R) Maqbool Baqir, stressed the vital role of arts, aesthetics, emotions, and stories in maintaining humanity in today’s technology-driven age. His comments were made during the Arts Council Academic Convocation 2024 in Karachi.



According to Chief Minister Sindh, the event, organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan, celebrated the accomplishments of graduates from various art academies. The convocation was attended by prominent figures including the Minister of Information and President of the Arts Council of Pakistan, Muhammad Ahmad Shah, Consul Generals of Oman, Turkey, Sri Lanka, and Qatar, diplomats, senior journalists, actors, and faculty, alongside students and parents.



The Chief Minister underscored the significance of arts and culture in reflecting the community’s identity and heritage. In an era often overwhelmed by data and technology, Baqir remarked that the arts remind us of our human essence. He lauded the graduates’ journey as one of self-discovery and commended their dedication to their crafts.



Baqir highlighted the Arts Council of Pakistan’s role in fostering cultural development, acting as a change catalyst and a platform for artists. He praised the institution’s efforts in ensuring the future of art and culture in Pakistan through emerging generations of artists.



The Chief Minister emphasized that arts serve as essential bridges across generations and borders, transcending language and geographical barriers. He stressed that the arts are not merely a luxury but a necessity for a connected and empathetic society.



Concluding his address, Baqir encouraged the graduates to continue their creative pursuits, asserting that their work breathes life into existence. He congratulated the graduates and their families, thanking them for contributing to the event celebrating artistic excellence.
