Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Marks Third Anniversary of Syed Ali Gilani’s Martyrdom in Srinagar

Srinagar: In a significant assembly held today, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir commemorated the third anniversary of the martyrdom of veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani. The group reaffirmed their commitment to continue the mission of the martyrs until its successful completion.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the meeting participants criticized the harsh measures enforced by Indian authorities on the anniversary of Gilani’s death, following nearly a decade of house arrest. They described how a curfew-like condition was imposed across the valley, transforming it into a virtual prison where residents were confined to their homes. Gilani was interred under the cover of darkness, closely monitored by the Indian military.

The assembly resolved to persevere in their struggle for freedom, undeterred by the suppression faced at the hands of Indian forces. They honored Gilani’s legacy and his calls for unity and resistance with slogans such as “La ilaha illallah”, “We are Pakistanis and Pakistan is ours,” and “Kashmir will become Pakistan”.

Furthermore, meeting attendees urged Pakistan to intensify its efforts at the international level to address the ongoing oppression and human rights abuses in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to advocate for the enforcement of international resolutions concerning the Kashmir dispute.
