Teachings of Sufi Saint Celebrated in New Book Launched in Islamabad


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada emphasized the importance of mystic teachings in promoting peace and harmony during the launch of a new book on Hazrat Mian Fazluddin Kalyami. The event, held at the Pakistan Academy of Letters, marked the release of ‘Kalyam Kooch-i-Ishq’, co-authored by Syed Ahmad Iqbal Tirmazi and Iftikhar Ahmad Hafiz Qadri.



According to Press Information Department, the ceremony, presided over by Dr. Sajid ur Rehman, former President of Islamic International University, featured several distinguished guests, including Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir of Ilama Iqbal Open University and President of the Pakistan Academy of Letters, Professor Dr. Najeeba Arif. The book explores the life and teachings of Hazrat Mian Fazluddin Kalyami, a revered saint from Kalyam in Gujar Khan, commemorating his 133rd death anniversary.



Minister Pirzada highlighted the role of Sufi mystics in spreading Islam in the subcontinent, noting their teachings of humility, tolerance, and brotherhood. He stressed the continued relevance of such teachings in today’s world and called for further initiatives to introduce these ideas to contemporary audiences. He also congratulated the authors for their contribution to Sufi literature.



Speakers at the event underscored the enduring influence of Mian Fazluddin Kalyami’s teachings. Dr. Sajid ur Rehman praised his spiritual impact, while Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir and Professor Dr. Najeeba Arif emphasized the importance of preserving his legacy for future generations. The event celebrated the saint’s contributions to spiritual thought and the ongoing inspiration his teachings provide.
