Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for filing Income Tax Returns for the 2025 tax year to October 31, 2025. The decision to extend the deadline has been made under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.
The extension follows numerous requests from trade bodies and tax bar associations. These groups had urged the FBR to provide taxpayers with additional time to fulfill their tax obligations.
The FBR’s decision aims to accommodate taxpayers and ensure compliance with tax regulations. The extension offers individuals and businesses extra time to prepare and submit their tax returns accurately.
The Press Information Department released the announcement, highlighting the FBR’s response to the appeals from the trade and legal sectors. The new deadline is intended to facilitate a smoother tax filing process for all parties involved.
