Islamabad: Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain has underscored the significant impact of Pakistan’s agricultural sector on the national economy. During his address at the Sustainable Development Conference in the capital city, the Minister stressed the necessity of integrating modern technologies to effectively tackle the challenges posed by climate change.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Hussain highlighted that Pakistan is ranked 5th globally in terms of vulnerability to climate change. He pointed out that as a pivotal entity in the agricultural sector, the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council must embrace innovation and new technologies to confront these pressing challenges.
Minister Hussain further advocated for the adoption of advanced technologies, such as satellite imaging and Geographic Information Systems, to boost agricultural productivity and enhance efficiency.
