ISLAMABAD: Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, has committed to advancing Pakistan’s olive sector, underscoring the government’s intent to foster a thriving environment for cultivation and export.
At the Pakistan Olive Summit held in Islamabad, Tanveer outlined the government’s strategy to collaborate with stakeholders to realize this vision. He emphasized the potential of the olive industry, citing the country’s advantageous land and climate conditions.
Tanveer stated that implementing appropriate policies and infrastructure, along with establishing robust partnerships, could empower farmers and bolster local businesses. This initiative aims to reduce Pakistan’s reliance on imported olives, aligning with broader economic goals.
