T20 World Cup: Pakistan beat Afghanistan by 5 wickets 

Islamabad, October 29, 2021 (PPI-OT):In the ICC T-20 Cricket World Cup at Dubai, Pakistan beat Afghanistan by five wickets on Friday night. This is Pakistan’s third consecutive victory in the mega event and is strong contender for the Semi Final spot.

Earlier, Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first Afghanistan scored 147 runs for the loss of six wickets in allotted 20 overs. In reply Pakistan achieved the 148-run target for the loss of five wickets in 19 overs. At the end, Pakistan need 24 runs off 12 balls. Asif Ali played a match winning role and hit four sixes in Karim Jannat over and secured victory for Pakistan. For Pakistan, Asif Ali who scored 25 runs in just seven balls was declared man of the match.

With two early wins, Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semi-finals are bright. Pakistan thrashed India well in the first match, beating the team by 10 wickets. They also easily defeated the Kiwis in their second match. Pakistan will play next match against Namibia at 7 pm on Tuesday [2nd November]. Pakistan will take on Scotland at 7 pm on Sunday [7th November]
