Syed Wasi Shah Calls for Youth Involvement in Environmental Protection Efforts

Islamabad, Syed Wasi Shah, Caretaker Minister of State for Tourism and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, has emphasized the critical role of young people in combating climate change and environmental degradation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Shah spoke at the closing ceremony of the Prime Minister’s Green Enovate Conference on Liquid and Solid Waste Management in Karachi. He highlighted the Green Youth Movement, a key initiative of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program. This program not only fosters employment opportunities for the youth but also contributes significantly to making the environment sustainable.

Shah noted that youth clubs have been established in 137 universities across the country, involving over 80,000 students in environmental protection efforts. He underscored the importance of the Green Youth Movement in mitigating environmental pollution through recycling of solid and liquid waste, and its role in improving the overall environmental landscape.
