Luton, September 03, 2023 (PPI-OT): Nazir Ahmed Qureshi, the leader of World Kashmir Freedom Movement, has paid rich tributes to veteran Kashmiri martyred leader Syed Ali Gilani on his martyrdom anniversary and said his services are a bright chapter of Kashmir freedom movement.

Nazir Ahmad Qureshi addressing an event in Luton, UK, said Syed Ali Gilani’s struggle is a torch for Kashmiris. He said there is a need to organize various seminars and conferences to highlight his message so that the young generation is connected with the Kashmir freedom movement.

He said that Syed Ali Gilani won many elections on the ticket of Jamaat-e-Islami and always advocated the solution of the Kashmir dispute in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. He said later he resigned from the assembly and led the resistance movement.

Nazir Qureshi said Syed Ali Gilani was the leader who declared Jammu and Kashmir as a natural part of Pakistan and declared the Kashmir dispute an incomplete agenda of the partition of the subcontinent. He said that his love for Pakistan was unconditional. Syed Ali Gilani had to spend a large part of his life in Indian jails in his long struggle, but his independence never wavered and he continued to fulfill the duty of guiding Kashmiris until the end, he added.

He said that it was the political philosophy of Syed Ali Gilani that no one has the right to unilaterally decide the political future of Kashmiris without taking them into confidence and played an unprecedented role to involve the Kashmiri youth in the freedom movement of Kashmir. He said, “Even though Syed Ali Gilani is not present among us today, his ideology is the guarantee of the success of our struggle and he is the leader of Kashmiris and will always rule the hearts of Kashmiris.
