Lahore: Swedish Ambassador Alexandra Berg von Linde held a meeting with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, during which the Punjab government extended an invitation for Swedish companies to invest in the region. The discussions centered around enhancing trade relations and addressing issues in education, health, IT, agriculture, and the environment.
According to Chief Minister of Punjab, the meeting underscored the favorable climate for investment in Punjab, with a special emphasis on supporting the agriculture sector and local farmers. Chief Minister Nawaz Sharif assured investors that they could invest without fearing risks and expressed a desire to learn from Sweden’s environmental practices. The Swedish ambassador recognized the Punjab government’s recent initiatives benefiting minority affairs and women’s rights and acknowledged the interest of Swedish investors in exploring opportunities in Punjab. Honorary Consul General Syed Haider Ali and other officials were also in attendance.
