Islamabad, The Ambassador of Sweden to Pakistan, Mr. Henrik Persson, met with the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of information technology and telecommunications.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting focused on opportunities to boost IT and telecommunication collaboration between Sweden and Pakistan. Minister Khawaja emphasized the government’s commitment to prioritizing the IT and telecommunications sector, noting the increase in Pakistan’s IT exports and the potential for further growth in relations with Sweden. She proposed initiatives such as joint roadshows and a stronger presence in the Swedish ICT market to enhance business-to-business relationships.
The Minister also highlighted the conducive investment atmosphere in Pakistan for foreign companies, urging Swedish tech companies to consider investing in Pakistan. She underscored the importance of public-private partnerships under the Prime Minister’s vision to advance national development. The Swedish Ambassador, affirming the potential of Pakistan’s IT sector, expressed Sweden’s eagerness to deepen ties in this area. The meeting also included the Director General of International Coordination, Syed Jawwad Ali Sherazi, underlining the significance of this bilateral engagement.
