A recent survey among British Indians has revealed that more than half hold a negative view of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The survey, conducted by the Platform for Indian Democracy, involved 500 participants identifying as British Indians, reflecting concerns over Modi’s impact on religious violence and the treatment of minorities. According to Kashmir Media Service, the survey highlighted that 52% of respondents view Modi unfavorably, while 35% expressed a favorable opinion. Concerns about religious violence, particularly events like the clashes between Hindu and Muslim groups in Leicester in 2022, were cited as significant issues. Moreover, the majority of those surveyed disagreed with the ideology of Hindutva and were particularly concerned about the treatment of women and girls in India.
