Survey of 90 tall buildings in the city by the Building Control, CDA

Islamabad, March 28, 2023 (PPI-OT): No cracks were found in the pillars of any building. 10 out of 90 buildings were found to be slightly affected by the earthquake. Minor cracks were found in the plaster or masonry of the buildings. Owners of affected buildings should have cracks repaired immediately, says the Building Control Agency In case of non-repair, immediately vacate the building and get a new building and structural sustainability certificate.

These certificates should be obtained from CDA and PEC registered firms, which will also need to be verified by a third-party consultant. The housing societies will survey the high-rise building and submit the report within 3 days. Instructions to the housing societies Submit the latest completion and strength certificates of high-rise and medium-rise buildings to the CDA in the Societies Administration.

These certificates should be obtained from firms registered with CDA and PEC. Inspection reports must be attached with the certificates. CDA directs housing societies not to take up residence in buildings that do not obtain completion certificates CDA instructs Housing Societies to take action against buildings being occupied without obtaining completion certificates.
