Sufferings of IIOJK people have increased manifold under Modi regime: Vikar Rasool

Jammu, March 10, 2023 (PPI-OT): The President of Indian National Congress chapter in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Vikar Rasool Wani, has said that the sufferings of the masses in the territory have increased manifold due to anti-people policies of the Narendra Modi-led BJP regime. Vikar Rasool Wani addressing a party function in Jammu, describing the BJP dispensation as anti-poor and anti-development, said the insensitive regime pushed people to the wall, as unemployment has increased, prices have risen and developmental activities have suffered a lot in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He maintained that his party is duty-bound to address the urges and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. On the occasion, the IIOJK Congress chief extended his party’s support to the Jammu shutdown call given by the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries for tomorrow against the imposition of property tax in IIOJK. He said his party fully supports the shutdown against the property tax, unemployment and other anti-people decisions of the BJP regime in the larger interest of the people of the territory.

Earlier on Thursday, Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries president Arun Gupta addressing a press conference in Jammu said that after series of meetings with members of civil society and other organizations, they have decided to observe complete shutdown on Saturday against the imposition of new property tax in Jammu and Kashmir. He said Chamber of Commerce and Industry will oppose any move that puts more burden on the people. Besides Congress, various other political, social, trade and youth organizations, including Muslim Front, United Democratic Alliance, Mission Statehood and Shiv Sena have supported the shutdown call for tomorrow in Jammu.
