Successful Security Operation at Punjab-KPK Border: Two Terrorists Killed, Several Injured

Dera Ghazi Khan: In a coordinated effort by Dera Ghazi Khan Police, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and Rangers, an operation at the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border led to an encounter with Khawarji terrorists in the Kotani Tal area of Police Station Vohwa. The confrontation resulted in the deaths of two terrorists, with several others injured.

The Punjab Police spokesperson reported that the operation was initiated following intelligence reports indicating the presence of terrorists in the area. The security teams, composed of Police, Rangers, and CTD personnel, responded quickly to engage the terrorists.

The Khawarji group was reportedly armed with rockets, hand grenades, and other heavy weapons. The security forces managed to overpower them, resulting in the elimination of two members of the group, while others were injured and fled the scene using nearby cover.

During the clash, two security officials, Elite Force member Adnan Habib and CTD official Ghazanfar, sustained minor injuries. The spokesperson noted that the Punjab-KPK border had been on high alert due to intelligence about potential terrorist activities.

Backup teams, led by District Police Officer Syed Ali, arrived promptly following the alert. Search and sweep operations by the Police, Rangers, and CTD are ongoing in the region to ensure the area is secure.

Inspector General Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised the efforts of the DG Khan Police for their effective response and the successful neutralization of the threat.
