Karachi, 13 Oct 2023: In an event that underscored the quintessential value of dedication and hard work in any profession, Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, and Provincial Law Minister Umar Soomro underscored the fundamental importance of these virtues in achieving success, particularly in the field of law. This sentiment was echoed at the distribution of credentials to the successful participants of the Bar Transfer Test 2023, held at the Institute of Business Administration Saddar Campus, where 40 successful participants were acknowledged. The dignitaries emphasized not only the pivotal role of hard work and integrity in ascending to prominence in the legal field but also addressed the imperative need for comprehensive support for law students from the government, stating the necessity of establishing a transparent mechanism for financial support, as per a press release from KMC.
Speaking to the attendees, which included the parliamentary leader in the city council Najmi Alam, leader of Pakistan People’s Party Shakil Choudhary, and the director of IBA, Barrister Murtaza Wahab elucidated that success in life is inexorably linked to hard work and unwavering dedication. Regardless of the profession and independent of the qualifications one possesses, the degree to which one commits to their vocation determines their level of success and recognition. He firmly stated that education is not a luxury but a fundamental right, stressing its pivotal role in personal and professional development.
Provincial Law Minister Umar Soomro extended the conversation towards the context of the environment in educational institutions. He highlighted that a conducive environment augments personal dignity and noted that the effectiveness of any educational institution is significantly tethered to the quality of its teachers. Good educators are vital in nurturing talent and producing proficient students, thereby upholding the reputation of the educational establishment.
Both leaders noted the government’s commitment to fully supporting law students and acknowledged the availability of funds. The key, they said, lies in establishing a transparent mechanism to ensure that financial support reaches talented and deserving students, bolstering their educational journey. Mayor Karachi emphasized the need for enhancing the standard of local bar exams and acknowledged that while many acquire degrees, only those who diligently work hard in their field attain prominence. He further noted that the legal profession is one of service and those who embody a spirit of service, invariably carve a name for themselves in the field.
During the event, certificates were distributed to 40 successful participants by Provincial Law Minister Umar Soomro and Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, symbolizing their accomplishment and ushering them into their next professional phase with the embodiment of the values emphasized during the event.
