Islamabad: The Sub-Committee on Social Welfare Work, Philanthropy and Public Service for Pakistan Civil Awards 2026, chaired by Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, convened a meeting to review nominations for the upcoming awards.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting took place at the Cabinet Division in Islamabad and included participation from Vice Chairman Abdul Khaliq Shaikh, Secretary Nabeel Ahmad Awan, senior officials, and members of the Sub-Committee. Representatives from all provinces and regions, including Chief Secretaries, joined via video link.
The Committee conducted a thorough examination of the nominations submitted by various agencies, focusing on the contributions of individuals in social welfare, philanthropy, and public service. Emphasis was placed on adherence to policy guidelines, with recommendations based on merit, integrity, and national significance.
The Committee stressed the need for transparent and fair evaluations and highlighted the importance of balanced provincial representation. Consideration for women, minorities, and persons with disabilities was reaffirmed as a commitment to inclusivity.
Senator Tarar concluded the meeting by directing the finalization of the scrutiny process in accordance with the criteria to ensure timely submission of recommendations to the relevant authorities.
