Islamabad, September 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):11th meeting of the Standing Committee on Communications was held at 02:00 p.m in parliament house under the Chairpersonship of Mr. Muhammad Abdul Ghafar Wattoo. The Committee offered Fateha for the depurated souls of martyrs of flood and extended deep sympathies and condolence with their families. The committee unanimously passed a Resolution expressing full support to the people affected by the recent floods across the country.
The committee was informed that 14 roads of National Highway Authority (NHA) were damage in the recent floods and NHA has already started working on it to ensure that the roads will be restored within 3 months. The committee recommended that the matter of toll collection policy at certain intervals be re-examined in its boards, with a view to provide relief to the people decision be inform to this committee.
The committee discussed the matter regarding service road along-with M-9 Motorway (moved by Mr. Jai Prakash, Mr. Kesoo Mal Kheeal Das, and MNA’s). And recommended that the Chairman NHA and representative of FWO brief the committee and they ensure their presence in the next meeting.
The committee deferred the “The Pakistan Postal Services Management Board Ordinance, Board (Amendment) Bill, 2019 (moved by Mr. Amjad Ali Khan, MNA), discussion on Matter Referred under rule 199 regarding funds allocation for Dir Motorway (moved by Muhammad Bashir Khan, MNA), and discussion on Matter regarding delay in completion of Sehwan-Jamshoro Road Project (moved by Mr. Skindar Ali Rahyoupoto, MNA) due to the non-presence of the movers.
MNAs, Chaudhary Khalid Javed, Mr. Rana Muhammad Ishaq Khan, Dr Darshan, Syed Abrar Ali Shah, Mr. Ramesh Lal, Moulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, Mr. Usama Qadri, Mir Khan Muhammad Jamali and Mr. Kesoo Mal Kheal Das, MNA and senior officers/officials from the M/O Communications attended the meeting.
