Islamabad: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Security, Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider, chaired a meeting focused on security preparations for the cricket team’s visit to Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The meeting saw the participation of senior police officers from both cities and officials from other law enforcement agencies.
The discussions centered on ensuring robust security arrangements for the team’s visit. A decision was made to implement foolproof security measures through close collaboration with Rawalpindi Police and other agencies. The movement routes of the team will be closely monitored using modern technology and drones. More than 800 police officers and officials are set to be deployed for security duties, with an emphasis on enhancing coordination and information sharing among security agencies.
SSP Security instructed all officers to conduct thorough search operations across the district before the team’s arrival. The Special Branch received directives to gather intelligence and ensure timely communication with relevant authorities. Officers were also tasked with briefing security personnel on their duties and ensuring that only the most capable staff are assigned to security tasks.
In concluding the meeting, SSP Security and the attending officers expressed their commitment to ensuring comprehensive security during the South African cricket team’s visit. The Islamabad Police pledged to take all necessary measures to maintain the dignity and reputation of the country.
