Srinagar, October 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities have turned the entire territory into a military garrison as the Indian Home Minister, Amit Shah, arrived in Srinagar, today.
Amit Shah landed in Srinagar today on a three day visit to IIOJK. This is his first visit to the territory since abrogation of its special status by Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government on August 05, 2019.
Srinagar resembles a fortress as the occupation authorities have beefed up so-called security in the city. Indian troops and police personnel have been deployed across the valley, especially in Srinagar. Bunkers manned by paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force have come up in several areas of the city while sharp-shooters have been deployed on high-rise buildings.
Indian police is also using drones to keep a watch on the movement of people. Barricades have been put up on the roads across the valley, especially in Srinagar, while frisking and checking of people has been intensified. Mobile internet services on a dozen towers were snapped three days ago as part of the security measures.
Indian police in a massive crackdown seized hundreds of motorcycles during the last few days. Several two-wheeler owners were seen gathered outside various police stations across Srinagar, pleading with officials for the release of their vehicles.
A senior police officer told media that security arrangements have been tightened across Kashmir as forces’ personnel have enhanced checking, frisking and surveillance. “The security is very stringent and searches have been intensified. Police and CRPF parties have been patrolling in large numbers. There are also ‘sudden spot and flash searches’ of vehicles,” he said.
Reports of enhanced security apparatus were also received from other districts of the territory. Security arrangements have also been tightened in Jammu city. Officials told media that the extra security measures would continue till Monday (October 25).
