Srinagar: Residents of Srinagar and other areas in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have condemned what they describe as a false flag operation by India in Pahalgam. The incident, they argue, is an attempt to malign the Kashmir freedom movement and wrongfully implicate Pakistan in terrorism activities.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a citizen in Lal Chowk criticized Indian troops for failing to prevent the attack despite their heavy presence in the area. He questioned the effectiveness of the military forces and accused them of suppressing the legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people. The citizen described the “peace” claimed by the Indian government as silence enforced through military power.
The citizen also criticized Indian Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing him of maintaining an anti-Muslim stance and questioning his silence on the Pahalgam incident. He compared the attack to the Chattisinghpora massacre, suggesting it was another attempt to vilify Kashmiri Muslims. He referenced a similar past attack on tourists in Dalgate, urging the public to review that incident’s report.
“Stop defaming Kashmiris,” he stated, emphasizing that Kashmiris have never attacked tourists. Identifying as a lifelong resident of Lal Chowk, he asserted, “Kashmiris do not raise their hands against guests.”
