Sri Lankan Army Chief Meets with COAS at General Headquarters

Rawalpindi, Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage, the Commander of the Sri Lankan Army, had an official meeting with General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), COAS at the General Headquarters today. The two top officials discussed matters of professional interest and explored ways to fortify bilateral defense ties. The Sri Lankan Army Chief commended the Pakistan Army for its professionalism and the successes of its ongoing operations that have fostered peace and stability in the region.

According to a news release by Inter Service Public Relation, General Munir emphasized the deep-rooted historical ties between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, particularly the collaboration in defense and training sectors. Lieutenant General Liyanage is also scheduled to attend the Passing Out Parade at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul tomorrow. Upon his arrival at the GHQ, the Sri Lankan Army Commander paid his respects by laying a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada, and a contingent of the Pakistan Army presented him with a guard of honor.
