Islamabad, August 02, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Special Committee on Arms Licenses met today this afternoon in Parliament House, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, MNA to discuss the problems faced by the citizens in obtaining of Arms Licenses.
The Special Committee expressed grave concern over the delaying tactic used by the Ministry of Interior in issuance of Arms licenses to parliamentarians which were already approved by Federal Minister for Interior. More than twenty Parliamentarians attended the meeting and informed the Special Committee about their grievances one by one. The Special Committee directed that Ministry may expedite the process for issuing of Arms licenses and avoid raising objection unnecessarily. Moreover, Ministry may clear the backlog at the earliest and report to the Special Committee in its next meeting
The Special Committee also directed that M/o Interior may expedite the process to transfer the Arms Weapons to inherits and report back to the Special Committee in its next meeting. The Special Committee expressed strong displeasure over the absence of Chairman, NADRA in the meeting as his presence was unavoidable to formulate a sold policy to remove hindrances for issuances of Arms licenses. The Special Committee decided to convene its next meeting on Monday i.e. 7th August, 2023. A The meeting was attended by Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, Mr. Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhary, Sardar Riaz Mehmood Khan Mazari, and other MNAS as special invites.
