Special Branch Punjab’s New Headquarters Inaugurated in Hafizabad

Hafizabad, In a significant development towards modernizing law enforcement infrastructure, the Punjab Police’s Special Branch has seen rapid advancements with the inauguration of its new district headquarters in Hafizabad. The ceremony, marking a leap towards enhancing operational capabilities, was attended by high-ranking officials and local dignitaries.

According to Punjab Police, Additional IG Special Branch Punjab Zulfiqar Hameed officiated the opening of the state-of-the-art facility, underscoring the broader initiative led by Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar to upgrade the Special Branch across the province to meet contemporary standards. The event was also graced by the Deputy Commissioner and DPO of Hafizabad, among other officers, signifying the collaborative effort towards this significant upgrade.

The newly constructed headquarters spans over 4 kanals and is outfitted with modern amenities including new computers, furniture, a mess hall, residential barracks, and a mosque, reflecting the commitment to providing an optimal working environment for the Special Branch personnel. Zulfiqar Hameed highlighted the strategic location of the office within the district complex, making it more accessible and thereby enhancing its operational efficiency.

This move is part of a larger strategy to adapt the infrastructure of Special Branch offices across all districts to contemporary requirements. The integration of information technology into reporting, security verification, and monitoring systems marks a significant shift towards digitalization, aimed at streamlining procedures and improving overall effectiveness.

Hameed also noted the stark contrast between the new facility and the previous district office, which was housed in a dilapidated building on Alipur Road. The construction of the new headquarters, costing Rs 23.123 million, signifies a pivotal step towards modernizing the Special Branch’s facilities and capabilities, setting a precedent for future developments within the Punjab Police force.
