Special Assistant to Prime Minister Engages with Women Chamber of Commerce Rawalpindi


Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Haroon Akhtar Khan, engaged in a meeting with the Women Chamber of Commerce Rawalpindi to discuss significant initiatives aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs. The agenda included securing a dedicated chamber space, establishing an expo hub, and fostering skill development initiatives for women.



Haroon Akhtar Khan stressed the importance of women’s empowerment for the economic progress of Pakistan. He affirmed that the policies of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prioritize empowering women, which is essential for the nation’s economic growth.



The Ministry of Industries and Production pledged to support the enhancement of skills and the creation of new opportunities for women entrepreneurs. Haroon Akhtar Khan noted that specialized organizations such as SMEDA, TUSDEC, and PITAC are integral to advancing women’s skills in the country.



The Women Chamber announced its plans to set up a women’s center in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, with Haroon Akhtar Khan assuring full support from the Ministry for this initiative.



Additionally, the Special Assistant instructed SMEDA, TUSDEC, and PITAC to work closely with the Women Chamber of Commerce to improve skill development programs. He requested regular updates on the progress of these efforts to ensure ongoing support and accountability.
