Islamabad, In an effort to bolster its capacity to maintain public order and security, the Islamabad Capital Police, under the guidance of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, successfully completed a special anti-riot training course. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the force’s ability to manage situations related to peace and security, as stated by a public relations officer of the police.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the culmination of this training was marked by a ceremony at the Police Lines Headquarters in Islamabad, with ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan serving as the chief guest. The event was attended by the CPO Headquarters, CPO Law and Order, along with other senior police officials.
During the training, the police personnel showcased their proficiency in several key areas essential for maintaining public order. These included techniques for protecting public and private properties, confronting criminal elements, and executing arrests. The use of water cannons and other sophisticated methods were also part of the demonstrations.
A notable aspect of the training was the successful execution of six distinct formations designed to disperse unlawful protests. These formations—line, roof, circle, V, water cannon, and special formations—incorporated a variety of tactics and strategies to manage and control potential disturbances effectively.
ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan highlighted that the purpose of these specialized exercises was to enhance the preparedness of the police force in dealing with law and order situations. He emphasized the significance of modernizing police training to provide better services and facilities to the citizens.
Dr. Khan also stressed the continuity of such training programs in the future, underscoring their importance in empowering officers and officials of the Islamabad Capital Police. The goal is to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to serve the community more efficiently.
